There are several ways that you can get involved in supporting Highland House

Our generous partners are the heart of Highland House, Inc.

There are so many opportunities to help our men and their families.  As a member of the public, interested in the well-being and growth of individuals in our program, you may have a desire to assist by volunteering your time and resources in the following areas:

  • Skill Sharing (sports & fitness, arts & crafts, relaxation techniques, creative writing, team-building, and more)

  • Educational presenters for short programs

  • Help with special events such as group activities like painting, grounds clean-up, and landscaping

For more information on volunteering or if you have a special skill or talent that you would like to share, please call 724-654-7760.

Highland House welcomes donations from individuals, community organizations and businesses. We are thankful for our generous local community and ask only that when wishing to donate larger household items (furniture, appliances, etc.) that you contact us in advance. Our needs vary at times and storage space is limited.

  • A 15-passenger van to transport our residents to recovery events and recreational activities

  • Our computers are listed as End of Life, and are extremely slow - we are in need of five computer towers and a server tower

  • New sectional furniture for our men in treatment

  • Financial donations to assist in the maintenance and improvement of the facility including the purchase and installation of vinyl flooring for all the bedrooms and hallways

  • Gift Certificates/Gift Cards: Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, Amazon, supermarkets, local shoe stores, local movie theatre, gas cards

  • Clothing: New men’s underwear, socks, pajamas, sweat pants/shirts, slippers, robes, winter apparel

  • Personal Products: Full size shampoo and conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, non-alcohol hand sanitizer, razors

  • New Linens: Blankets/comforters

  • Donation of time to assist with minor projects (painting, planting, disposal of items, etc.)

We want to give back to the community!

Not only do our residents benefit by the volunteerism of the general public, but the men in treatment want to volunteer in our local community.  They can do that only  if people reach out to us.  We welcome the collaboration of any non-profit agency to provide our men an opportunity to give back to our community.  If you are looking for volunteers, call us at 724-654-7760 to see how we can help!
